Sue Channan’s knowledge, experience and practical approach have helped clients achieve favorable outcomes. Sue is a client-service oriented lawyer with extensive experience acting in a wide range of family law issues including custody, parenting plans, moving or relocating claims, representing parents, guardians and children, domestic violence and abuse, ongoing and retroactive support for spouses and children, and dispute resolution via mediations, negotiations, collaborative law and court procedures.
Sue graduated from various post-secondary institutions including the University of Calgary, University of Alberta and Osgoode Hall Law School. She possesses Bachelor degrees in arts, education and laws, as well as a Master of Laws degree, a Juris Doctor degree and a verified Certificate from Harvard University.
Sue has received distinguished service awards and recognitions from legal organizations for doing many years of demanding and challenging legal work. Her services have been acknowledged by the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta), Calgary Legal Guidance and Alberta Legal Aid.
Sue has resolved and litigated matters at the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench and the Court of Appeal of Alberta. She has chaired a federal tribunal and has represented many individuals at administrative tribunal proceedings.
Sue is fluent in the English language and can converse in Punjabi and Hindi.
